The 18th annual Encore! show featuring Paris Junior College’s award-winning show choir will be staged this weekend, according to Pat Fowzer, vocal music director. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 18, and Saturday, April 19. A matinee performance will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 20. All shows will be held in the Ray Karrer Theater on the PJC campus.

This year’s theme is “Billboard’s Top Hits” and features some of the most famous groups and artists covering a wide range of decades.

Some of the groups being portrayed through their most famous musical hits include The Eagles, The Beatles, The Four Seasons, The Dave Clark Five, The Goo Goo Dolls, and Queen. In addition, songs like “Footloose” from Kenny Loggins, “It’s My Party” from Lesley Gore, “Stand By Me” from Ben E. King, “Fancy” from Reba McIntire, and “Son of a Preacher Man” from Janis Joplin are just a portion of the show.

Kristina House Courson, a member of the 1999 Encore and a PJC alumni, has created the chorography for the show.

Tickets are $3 per person, and persons with a PJC I.D. will be admitted free. Tickets may be purchased at the PJC Music Building or Newman Towne and Country Real Estate in downtown Paris. Tickets are also available at the door for the evening shows and there is no reserved seating. Doors open at 7 p.m.
