Computing for Seniors has never been so quick, easy or enjoyable. Paris Regional Medical Center’s PrimeTime and Paris Junior College are proud to offer you our easy step-by-step method of computing for the senior adult (55 and over).

Step 1 - Understanding PCs (9 hours/$72)

Learning computers shouldn’t have to be scary. This course will take away your fears and introduce you to the ease of computing with today’s modern equipment. You will learn some computer terminology. A “mouse” won’t bite, a “CD” isn’t a financial investment and a “hard drive” isn’t a trip with your grandson behind the steering wheel. This course is designed for the novice and uses a hands-on approach that prepares you to take other computer courses. Basic touch-typing skills would be helpful. The textbook Windows XP (used for steps 1-3) is required and is available at the PJC Bookstore. (WECM Course Number ITSW1014 - Data Entry I)

Step 2 - Understanding Windows (9 hours/$72)

Now you can learn to do Windows - the operating system. This course will teach you how to become comfortable in creating, saving, and finding your files. Discover Windows Explorer and learn how to manage and manipulate files and directories. Open and close multiple documents without fear of file loss. This class will also explain some of the Windows accessories. A textbook and one 3.5-inch 2HD diskette are required. Step 1 is recommended, but is not required.
