The Paris Junior College Computer Center is responsible for almost all of the computing and networking equipment and services provided by the college.

The staff of the Paris Junior College Computer Center is responsible for supporting the hundreds of computers on PJC’s three campuses, as well as the college’s complex networking systems. The Center also supports the technology used in college’s ITV, distance learning and Virtual College of Texas (VCT) programs.

The most public face of the Computer Center’s work are the 21 Internet-connected computers in the Mike Rheudasil Learning Center for use by both students and the public. The Center also maintains two computers in the McLemore Student Center for student and public use.

PJC - Greenville Center has six computers for student and public use in its library, and PJC - Sulphur Springs Center offers 14 computers in its library.

Dozens of computers in campus labs are available for student use when not being used for classroom purposes.

The Center also maintains wireless network connections in the Rheudasil Learning Center, the administration building, the three dormitories on the Paris campus and the B.E. Masters Student Apartments.

Campus Connect, the system used by students to register, pay tuition, check grades and obtain transcripts, is also maintained by the Center, as well as the WebCT system, used for online instruction, and the video and networking technologies used for ITV and VCT courses.

PJC’s Internet connectivity is provided by NETNET, a consortium of 15 East Texas higher education institutions. Member institutions include:

NETNET also serves dozens of Texas public school districts, as well as many of the area’s health care centers.

Paris Junior College’s Web site and the Web site of the A.M. and Welma Aikin Jr. Regional Archives are maintained by the PJC Office of Information Services.
