PJC Information Services Paris Junior College offers selected courses online, meaning you may take these classes by submitting your work through the Internet instead of regular class visits. Online courses allow you to learn from almost anywhere and at any time, and an increasing number of students are finding online classes easy to work into busy career and family schedules. PJC has an excellent staff of online instructors. Some courses may require you come to the campus during the semester for testing or other purposes. To take online classes at PJC, you must be very comfortable with: » Accessing technical support for your computer and software. » Using the Internet. » Corresponding with your Internet Service Provider about technical issues. » Sending and responding to e-mail. » Uploading files to the instructor. » Participating in online discussion boards and chat rooms. » Performing Internet searches. To take online classes at PJC, you must have access to a computer with: » Windows 95 or newer or a Macintosh operating system. » A computer with a Pentium 200 MHz processor (Pentium II 400 MHz or higher recommended). » 16 MB of RAM (32 MB or more recommended). » A CD ROM drive. » A 56 kbps modem or better Internet connection. » Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or above, or Netscape Navigator 4.0 or above. Macinstosh OS X users should check for specific browser requirements. » A sound card and speakers (recommended). » Reliable Internet access (BellSouth, Earthlink, AOL, etc., though some users will encounter compatibility issues with AOL). » An e-mail account. NOTE: Many online courses may require you to have access to a recent version of Microsoft Office software. WebCTParis Junior College uses WebCT. Log in now.
