Adult Education new student orientation set

Paris Junior College Adult Education and Family Literacy Department will hold orientation for new students the week of March 24 for persons wishing to enroll in GED Preparation or English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, according to Louisa Kessel, Adult Education Director.

Interested participants should plan to arrive 30 minutes early on the first day of the class listed below that they wish to attend.

Paris Campus

GED Preparation morning classes meet at the PJC Rheudasil Learning Center Monday and Wednesday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 am. Evening classes meet at the PJC Rheudasil Learning Center Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 pm.

English as a Second Language (ESL) morning classes meet Monday through Thursday mornings at Justiss Elementary School. Participants interested in attending the Justiss classes should contact Susan Sanchez for admission details.

ESL evening classes meet at the PJC Rheudasil Learning Center Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 pm and at the Forrest Hill School in Maxey Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8:30 pm.

Sulphur Springs Campus

GED Preparation morning classes meet at the Sulphur Springs Center Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Evening classes meet Monday and Tuesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Sulphur Springs High School.

Students should meet in the Sulphur Springs Center lobby to be directed to the classroom.

ESL morning classes meet at the Sulphur Springs Administration Building Monday through Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Childcare will be provided.

ESL evening classes meet at the Boys and Girls Club Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and at Como-Pickton High School Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.. Childcare will be provided.

All classes are free to participants.

If participants are 16 years old, a copy of their court order must be provided. If participants are 17 years old, an official withdrawal from high school is required for class admission.
