2017 Mr. & Miss PJC

During halftime of the Paris Junior College women’s basketball game Wednesday evening, Raven Maxwell and Thomas Jeffries were chosen as 2017 Mr. & Miss PJC.

The 2017 Mr. & Miss Paris Junior College were announced Wednesday evening at halftime of the women's basketball game against San Jacinto College. Chosen this year were Raven Maxwell of Cooper and Thomas Jeffries of Flower Mound. To be nominated, candidates must be a full-time student, have at least 45 hours completed at PJC, and be on track to graduate. They are nominated by PJC faculty and staff and then selected by a vote of the student body. Maxwell is a 2015 graduate of Cooper High School and the daughter of Amanda and Tony Mims of Cooper, Texas. She is active in the theater department and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She has been named to the President’s Honor List and Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. After PJC Maxwell will continue her education at Tyler Junior College pursuing her degree in dental hygiene, then she plans to transfer to dental school. Maxwell also was the 2016 PJC Homecoming Queen. Jeffries is a 2015 graduate of Flower Mound High School and the son of Jamie and Thomas Jeffries of Flower Mound, Texas. A two-year member of the PJC baseball team, he was named National Junior College Athletic Association Region XIV Freshman of the Year and played in the 2016 NJCAA Texas-New Mexico All-Star game. Jeffries donates his time volunteering at the Paris Food Pantry and a reading program for kids at area schools. After PJC he plans to continue playing baseball at a four-year university while pursuing his degree in political science.
