Adult Education orientation classes scheduled

Paris Junior College Adult Education and Family Literacy Department will hold an orientation Jan. 16-18 for persons wishing to enroll in Adult Education/GED Preparation classes.

Orientation will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Rheudasil Learning Center. All classes are free of charge.

Day classes will meet Monday through Thursday, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. with the evening session meeting Monday through Thursday, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Orientation for English as a Second Language participants will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, January 16-18 at Faith Presbyterian Church.

ESL/Citizenship classes will meet Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to noon. Childcare is provided for the classes meeting at Faith Presbyterian Church. ESL classes on the PJC campus will be held on Monday and Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in rooms 111 and 122 of the Natural Science Building.

Sulphur Springs Center

Orientation for Adult Education/GED Preparation classes will be held Jan. 16-18 at the Sulphur Springs Center. Orientation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in room 102 at the Center. An evening orientation will be available from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Sulphur Springs High School. Students should meet in the Center lobby to be directed to the classroom.

English as a Second Language/Citizenship classes at the Sulphur Springs Boys and Girls Club will meet two evenings a week from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Childcare will be provided.

ESL/Citizenship classes will be held at Como-Pickton High School, room 302, Tuesday through Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. GED classes at Como-Pickton High School will meet from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday.

Delta County

Orientation for Adult Education/GED Preparation classes will be held Jan. 16-18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Delta County Library in Cooper.

Participants are required to attend orientation sessions before being placed into a class. Sixteen- and 17-year-old students wishing to enroll in the GED program are required to meet additional documentation and approval requirements prior to class admission.

Classes for returning students resume on Jan. 22.
