The Paris Junior College Board of Regents Monday night approved bids to replace heating and air conditioning piping on campus and recognized the Dragons men’s basketball team that won the conference championship.

Board members voted unanimously to approve a bid of $1,759,300 to replace half-century-old piping that conducts heat and air to the buildings on campus. Mosby Mechanical of Longview submitted the winning bid.

Athletic Director Dr. Jim Moffitt introduced Dragons basketball coach Ross Hodge and presented him with a plaque naming him the NJCAA Region XIV Coach of the Year. Hodge then introduced members of the team that won the conference with a 19-3 record and a 27-6 season mark. Ramon Clemente, DeUndrae Spraggins and Earnest Jones were given All-Conference certificates.

In other business, the board approved a bid of $34,400 from Jamar Contractors of Paris to replace the air conditioning units in the Hunt Center and announced the employment of Gay Morris as advisor in the Upward Bound program effective April 1.
