Brooke Ann Coan recipient of Moersen Scholarship

Brooke Ann Coan, a senior at Paris High School, has been awarded the Donna and Leo Moersen Registered Nursing Scholarship to attend Paris Junior College. Coan is the daughter of Clay Coan and Debra and Anthony West of Paris. The Donna and Leo Moersen Registered Nursing Scholarship pays full tuition, fees and book costs, and provides nurse uniforms required for the two-year nursing program the PJC School of Nursing. "I feel so honored to be the recipient of the Donna and Leo Moersen Registered Nursing Scholarship," said Coan. "I hope to make the scholarship donor and committee members who selected me proud as I pursue my nursing career." Coan will be a PHS Distinguished Graduate in May and has already earned college credit from dual-credit courses at Paris Junior College. She has been named to the National Honor Society and Who's Who Among American High School Students. She played varsity soccer and golf while at Paris High School. "We are proud to award a Moersen Scholarship to Brooke and look forward to her entering our nursing program," said Marcia Putnam, director of the PJC Health Occupations Department.
