Dragon Steen named to All-Region Second Team

Published or Revised March 10, 2006

The Paris Junior College Dragons won the NJCAA Region XIV Athletic Conference championship, but that feat didn't place any of the Dragons on the Conference All-Region team. Freshman Maurice Steen, the leading scorer on the Dragon team, was named to the second team. Steen averaged 12.9 points per game during the regular season. Freshman Ramon Clemente and sophomore Brian Burrell were selected to the third team. Burrell was the second-leading scorer on the team, averaging 12.2 points per game. Clemente followed with a 9.6 point-per-game average. Burrell also led in 3-point shooting, hitting over 36 percent of his long-range shots. Given honorable mention to the All-Region team from Paris was freshman Earnest Jones. Angelina College coach Guy Davis was named Coach of the Year.
