PJC drama students honored at competition

The Paris Junior College Drama Department presented [i]The Skin of Our Teeth[/i] at TCCSTA State Playfest Competition held recently at Blinn College in Brenham. The play earned an excellent rating overall, and many of the PJC theater students brought home individual awards, according to instructor Ann Gerrity. Dori Logsdon won a superior rating in costume design, which is a director's choice award. Heath Allen, Tia Ballard, Josh Maxwell, Danyelle Lambert, Kayla Coleman, Cate Jones, Chris Culver and Dori Logsdon all captured excellent in costume design awards. Kayla Coleman was awarded a superior rating in set furnishings design, another director's choice award. Heath Allen brought home awards for excellence as stage manager (critics' choice), and awards for superior production assistant and superior costume design, also a directors' choice award. Josh Maxwell received an excellent actor award, excellent publicity award and was given a superior rating in media presentation. Cate Jones received an excellent make-up design award and Elizabeth Dahlin received a superior rating in properties design. Other awards included Danyelle Lambert, excellent hair design, Tia Ballard, excellent actor, and Christ Culver, excellent actor. Other students involved in this winning performance were David Jackson, Jason Thomas, Deborah Dahlin, T.J. Jones and Garrett Whitten.
