Dragons sign Tom Bean basketball star Derek Fugate

Derek Fugate, center, an All-State player from Tom Bean High School, signs a letter of intent to attend Paris Junior College and continue his basketball career with the Dragons. Fugate, a 6-2 guard, led his team in scoring with 27 points per game his senior season and earned first team All-District and All-Region honors. He was named to the Class AA All-State second team. His mother, Carol, left, and PJC Dragons Head Coach Bill Foy witness his signing. “We are pleased to have a player of Derek’s caliber join our basketball program,” said Foy.
