Paris Junior College Adult Education and Family Literacy Consortium will hold an orientation Aug. 28-31 for persons wishing to enroll in Adult Education/GED Preparation classes.
In Paris, orientation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Rheudasil Learning Center on the PJC campus.
In Sulphur Springs, orientation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at PJC - Sulphur Springs Center. An evening orientation will be available from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Sulphur Springs High School.
In Cooper, orientation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Delta County Library.
Orientation for English as a Language participants will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Sept. 5-8, at Faith Presbyterian Church in Paris. An evening session will meet from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the PJC Administration Building, Room 111.
Participants are required to attend all four orientation sessions before being placed into a class. Class will start the Wednesday following orientation and Labor Day.
Students must be 18 years of age or older and provide a valid Social Security number. Seventeen-year-olds may attend if they have an official withdrawal from school, parental consent and provide a Social Security number. Court-ordered 16-year-olds must have a copy of the court order stating that he/she is required to attend Adult Education (GED) classes offered through Paris Junior College.
No one will be admitted into class after the orientation dates.
Pre-registration is required for all 16- and 17-year-olds desiring to enroll. Call 903-782-0424 to make reservations.
Classes for returning students resume on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
