PJC Athletic Director Dr. Jim Moffitt, left, and Specialty Supply representative Tom Kupper recently checked the new stadium seat for fit at Hub Hollis Field. New seating will be installed this year.

Fans attending baseball games at Hub Hollis Field in Paris next season will enjoy the comfort of new seating in the covered stadium area. New seating for the ballpark, which serves as the home field for Paris Junior College, Paris High School and the Teen League, will be installed later this year, thanks to the support of businesses and individuals, including former players. The classic seating planned for the baseball stadium is nostalgically reminiscent of ballpark seating from the 1940s. Approximately 125 of these classic seats, known as the Legend, will be installed at the ballpark. The Legend is used at several major ballparks, such as Coors Field in Denver, Colo., Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, and BankOne Ballpark in Phoenix, Ariz. "The old seating, which came from the old Arlington Stadium, was worn out, and we want to replace it with something comfortable and long lasting," said Paris Junior College Athletic Director Dr. Jim Moffitt. "This seat will be there for a long time and look great at Hub Hollis Baseball Field." The project is part of the ongoing program to keep the Hub Hollis Field up to date and to make it the best college park in the conference and in Texas. Anyone wishing to be a part of the program to update seating at the field can do so by purchasing one or more of the seats for $150 each. The contributor's name, or the name of a person they wish to honor, will be engraved on each chair. Those wishing to contribute a stadium seat can do so by sending the donation and inscription information to: Hub Hollis Field Committee, Paris Junior College, 2400 Clarksville St., Paris, TX 75460. For information or to reserve a seat, call 903-782-0218.
