Matt White featured at Texas Book Festival

Matt WhiteMatt White, Paris Junior College instructor and author of [i]Prairie Time: A Blackland Portrait[/i], is one of the featured writers at the Texas Book Festival being held in Austin this weekend. White will participate in a panel called “Pride of Place: Texas Nature Writing” on Sunday, Oct. 29, in the State Capitol building. The moderator will be Charles Lohrmann, managing editor of [i]Texas Parks and Wildlife[/i] magazine. White’s book helps readers understand what a prairie is and how to appreciate its beauty and importance, and to increase awareness of the small plots of virgin land that remains. White, who teaches history at PJC, is also the author of [i]The Birds of Northeast Texas[/i].
