New GED orientation sessions scheduled

The Adult Education and Literacy Department at Paris Junior College has scheduled additional orientation sessions on both Paris and Sulphur Springs campuses for students wishing to take GED classes, according to Janie Bonham, director.

On the Paris campus, orientation sessions will meet from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. or from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, June 6-9. The morning session will meet in the Rheudasil Learning Center. The evening orientation will be held in room 11 of the Natural Science Building.

At the Sulphur Springs Center, orientation sessions will meet from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. or from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, June 6-9.

All students must complete the four parts of orientation before being assigned to a class. Classes will meet on Tuesday and Thursday beginning June 14.

Students must be 18 or older. Seventeen-year-olds may enroll with an official withdrawal from public school and parental consent. Sixteen-year-olds must have a court order to enroll. All students must furnish a Social Security number.

Interested persons must register with the Adult Education Department at 903-782-0424. A minimum of 20 students is required for this session.
