Published or Revised August 15, 2006

Paris Junior College will offer a new course this fall as part of the Associate of Arts in Teaching degree.

The course is entitled “Introduction to Special Populations” (EDUC 2301), and is applicable to all teacher specializations except the EC-4 Early Childhood Specialization Only degree plan.

The new course will be offered in Paris on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It will require 16 hours of field experience in a school setting, and has a prerequisite of EDUC 1301, Introduction to the Teaching Profession. EDUC 1301 is offered in Paris on Tuesday nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

For those individuals thinking they might like to have a career in teaching, PJC offers an excellent introductory exposure to those experiences through its degree plans in teaching. The course structures and routines will allow individuals to make career choices at an early point in their pursuit of a college degree.

Those interested in these courses can call Robert Thornburrow at Paris Junior College, 903 782-0728, to obtain further information.
