Pianist Gustavo Romero to perform at PJC Sept. 17

Pianist Gustavo Romero will perform in concert at Paris Junior College Sunday, Sept. 17. The concert, free to the public, will begin at 3 p.m. and will be conducted in the Shaw Recital Hall located in the Music Building on the PJC campus. Mr. Romero is professor of piano at the University of North Texas in Denton. He has performed with many world-renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Boston Pops Orchestra. The Washington Post music critic describes Romero as "a pianist of genius." The popular pianist has earned a reputation for the technical brilliance and interpretive depth of his playing, and for his commitment to in-depth exploration of individual composers, as demonstrated by recital series focusing on the works of Chopin, Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. This event is co-sponsored by the Paris Area Arts Alliance and Paris Junior College.
