Published or Revised December 01, 2014

Paris Junior College’s Music Department will present “Christmas in the Chapel” on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the DeShong Chapel on the PJC campus. Then on Thursday, Dec. 4, PJC students will perform their end-of-semester selections in the Shaw Recital Hall in the Music Building. The recital showcases the hard work of the vocal students during the fall semester and is also slated for 7:30 p.m. Both events are free and the public is welcome. “The candlelight concert will feature music for the Christmas season in the wonderful DeShong Chapel,” said PJC music instructor/director of choirs Philip Briggs. “It is a delightful, intimate space in which to enjoy the music of Christmas. Among the pieces performed will be traditional, contemporary, and popular choral Christmas carol settings by the PJC Choir and student soloists. Featured composers and arrangers include Phillip M. Young, Doug Wagner, Ed Lojeski, and Donald Moore.”
