Paris Junior College students who took first place in the Third Juried Art Awards and were present are, from left, Ceramics, Level One winner Beverly Gilbert of Paris; Painting, Level Two winner Jenaveve Lester of Blossom; Drawing, Level One winner Metz Branch of Paris; Drawing, Level Two winner Amanda Lair-Barnett of Paris; and Ceramics, Level Two winner Sharon Lynch of Hugo, Okla.

The Third Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit was held by the Paris Junior College Art Department on Tuesday, May 5. Awards were presented during the opening reception, and the show will remain open until May 12 at the Foyer Gallery. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Winners by category include:

Ceramics, Level One: First, Beverly Gilbert of Paris; second, Rebecca Wilson of Paris; third, Candace Weist of Paris; and honorable mention to Adelene Martel of Hugo, Okla.

Ceramics, Level Two: First and honorable mention, Sharon Lynch of Hugo, Okla. and second and third, Tim Shelton of Paris.

Painting, Level One: First, Liz Washburn of Antlers, Okla.; second, Matt Morton of Arthur City; third, Jessica Holland of Paris; and honorable mentions to Skylar Hines of Brookston (two) and Amanda Lair-Barnett of Paris.

Painting, Level Two: First and honorable mention to Jenaveve Lester of Blossom; second to Wilson; and third to Lair-Barnett.

Drawing, Level One: First, Metz Branch of Paris; second, Andy Johnson of Paris; third and honorable mention to Lance Marshall of Paris; and honorable mention to Washburn.

Drawing, Level Two: First, Lair-Barnett; second, Branch; third, Washburn; and honorable mentions to Lester, and (from Paris) Julie McGatha, Jessica Holland, and Sydney Case.

Design I, Two Dimension: First, Branch; second, Taylor McCloure of Pattonville; and Washburn.

Design II, Three Dimension: First and honorable mention, Martel; second, Marshall; third, Lacey Pierce, Commerce; and honorable mentions to Julie McGatha of Paris, and Branch.
