Junior Law Enforcement Academy, Kids College at PJC

Paris Junior College will again sponsor the Junior Law Enforcement Academy for grades 6th-9th, June 15-18. The academy will meet from 1 p.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Thursday. This year there will be on-site visits as well as hands-on activities.

Academy participants will visit:

Participants will learn self-defense techniques through martial arts and investigate a “mock” crime scene on the final day of camp at PJC.

Later in the summer PJC will offer one session of Kids College for grades K-5th, July 13-16, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be a parent preview on the final day.

Classes will include:

Think It, Draw It, Create It: learn drawing without needing prior experience; Kidz Home Alone: emergency and safety rules; Krafty Kids; Martial Arts & Anti Bully Techniques; ¡Olè!: learn the Spanish alphabet, numbers and popular phrases as well as games, art projects and a fiesta; Lights! Camera! Action!: learn the basics to create a video; Secret Agent: learn skills and code-breaking; Give Me a “C” Give Me a “HEER”: learn cheering and tumbling; Signing with Friends: learn how to fingerspell; Kitchen Creations: learn to create tasty and healthy snacks; Theater Workshop: write a screenplay, build props, and more; Sweet Pea Spa Day: learn proper care for nails and hair; Super Silly Science: fun and silly hands-on experiments and activities; Traffic Light Eating: learn healthy eating as students prepare their own lunch; and Write Off the Bat: create a special “Kids College” newspaper.
