PJC offering summer activities for young people

Paris Junior College is again offering the popular Kids’ College and Junior Law Enforcement Academy this summer.

PJC Kids’ College will be held from July 11-14 and targets those completing grades K-5.

Classes are block scheduled and run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. Parents may drop off their children starting at 8:00 a.m.

The 2016 Kids’ College will include:

3-D Character Creation, A Walk Thru Space, Audubon Adventures, Birding, Butterfly Fun, Exploring Acting Through Games, Great Games to Remember, Learn to Cook the “HEALTHY” Way, Martial Arts, Munching on Math, My Crown Tells a Story, Photography, Reptile Round Up, “SEAing” is Believing, Something’s Fishy!, Sweet Pea Spa Day, and Yes You CANvas!

PJC will also sponsor the Junior Law Enforcement Academy for students who have completed sixth through ninth grades from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., August 1-4. The academy will meet from 1 p.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Academy participants will learn about police operations on Monday, jail operations on Tuesday, court procedures on Wednesday, and on Thursday learn of criminal justice education, crime scenes, and self defense.
