Published or Revised May 24, 2007

The Paris Junior College Board of Regents approved a guaranteed maximum cost for the Greenville campus project and approved a bank depository for the coming year. Bruce Helm of Charter Builders, general contractor, presented the board with a guaranteed maximum price of $9,848.092 for construction of the PJC - Greenville campus project. His guarantee proposal was submitted after receiving bids from all sub-contractors involved in the construction. Regents unanimously accepted the maximum price guarantee. In related action, regents unanimously approved an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Greenville for the extension of Lions Lair to the college land and installation of water lines for the campus. The road cost, not to exceed $400,000, will be included in the total cost of the campus project, which will be retired with a building use fee charged students enrolled in Greenville. The extension of Lions Lair will serve as the entrance to the Greenville campus until Monty Stratton Boulevard is completed. Following the review of bids for the college’s bank depository, the Board of Regents approved the administration’s recommendation to keep Lamar National Bank as the depository for the coming year. In other action, regents approved some recommended changes in local policies, legal policies and approved a memorandum of understanding with Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) so they can apply for federal funding. Regents also approved the employment of Heather Burkham as instructor of math, Kelli Ebel as instructor of Spanish, Paul May as instructor of speech, Jon Rutherford as instructor of sociology and Kristopher Wood as women’s basketball coach and instructor of kinesiology. They also employed John Spradling as director of PJC - Greenville Center. The board accepted the resignation of Alicia Williams, dorm resident supervisor and assistant softball coach, and received the retirement notice of Johnye Robertson, director of institutional development.
