Regents approve master plans for campuses

The Paris Junior College Board of Regents recently approved a master plan for the Paris campus that will provide for orderly growth of facilities and infrastructure over the next 20 years. The board also approved plans for the Greenville and Sulphur Springs campuses where beginning of construction of new facilities is planned next. The master plan for the Paris campus includes construction of a new dormitory, changing the use of the old gymnasium to a student center facility, building and landscaping student gathering areas on the campus, rerouting vehicle and walking traffic, and building a new science and classroom facility. These and other improvements will be among future planning options. In other business, Regent President Paul Gene Roden appointed regents Paul Denney, Carlton Grant and Rachel Braswell to a search committee to recommend a replacement for Gary Preston from Place 5 who recently resigned from the board. The board accepted the resignation of Bonnie Ausburn, director of Project SAVE and educational liaison to the Lamar County Education Coalition, effective Dec. 31. They also approved the employment of Jessica Guest as a student recruiter, and James Massey as clinical instructor in the Association Degree Nursing program.
