Registration for GED test set in Sulphur Springs

Registration will be held in the Paris Junior College - Sulphur Springs Center on March 21 for those persons planning to take the next GED test scheduled on March 23.

PJC Testing Department Director Callie Thompson said registration would begin at 1 p.m. in the Center. The fee is $60 for those persons taking the test for the first time. Students repeating a section of the test will be charged $12 for each section tested.

Everyone registering for the test must have official photo identification. A valid driver’s license, texas identification card, military ID or a valid passport may be used for the photo ID.

Seventeen-year-olds must fill out an official Withdrawal From School Form and a Parental Consent Form. Sixteen-year-olds are only eligible to take the GED test with an original court order. No photocopies accepted. No childcare is provided during the registration or test, and no children are allowed in the testing room.

Registration can take up to three hours to complete, and applicants must stay the entire time.

After successfully registering, persons will then be eligible to take the GED test that begins at 7:45 a.m. on March 23. Testing is usually completed by 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
