Visual Arts Award Winners Honored at Paris Junior College

Tuesday, April 29, the Paris Junior College Foyer Gallery was the site of a reception and awards ceremony at the Second Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit. Students received their awards Tuesday as the opening. The exhibit continues until May 6 at the Foyer Gallery. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Winners by category include: Three Dimensional Design: First, Matthew Morton of Arthur City; second, Katlyn Zimmer of Paris; third, Baron Capers of Powderly; and honorable mention to Jenaveve Lester of Blossom, Chelsea de la Rosa of Paris, and Zimmer. Two Dimensional Design: First, Chelsea de la Rosa; second, Lacie Pierce of Commerce. Drawing: First, Richard Whalen of Paris; Second, de la Rosa; Third, Christopher Watts of Bogata; and honorable mention to Amanda Lair-Barnett of Roxton, Watts, Morton, Whelan, and Chelsea de la Rosa. Painting: First, Candra Wyatt, Second, Anita O'Neal, Third, Montel Thomas, all of Paris; and honorable mention to Wyatt.
