During halftime of the Paris Junior College women's basketball game against Bossier Parish Community College on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022 the nominees for Mr. and Miss PJC were announced and the winners named.

Two free evenings of music as well as an art student reception with awards will take place Monday and Tuesday at Paris Junior College. A student recital will be held Monday at 7 p.m., Dec. 6, 2021. On Tuesday, Dec. 7 the Fall Student Art Show and Awards will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and a Christmas Concert and Sing-Along will be at 7 p.m.

Two lifelong Paris and Lamar County community members have been selected as recipients of the 2021 Paris Junior College Distinguished Alumni Award. Brad Hutchison, Class of 1964 and Lynn Patterson, Class of 1974 will be honored during PJC’s 2021 Homecoming festivities on Nov. 6 at the Love Civic Center at 11:30 a.m. The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor bestowed on alumni by the College.

This fall 2021, PTK is joining with the Student Government Association to host a Mental Health: Suicide Awareness Forum on Thursday that is free and open to the public.

Students wishing to attend Paris Junior College have greater scholarship options thanks to a generous endowment of $10,000 directed to the College in the fall of 2021. The gift from the Dr. Joanne Olivard Endowed Fund in honor of W.H. Brumley, Brian Brumley & Monica Brumley Purviance, as directed by Olivard Foundation Executive Director Phyllis Brumley, funds a scholarship aiding students from Delta, Fannin and Lamar counties who wish to attend a vocational/workforce program at PJC.
