Paris Junior College is a part of the National Junior College Athletic Association.

2009 McLennan Community College Coca-Cola Classic

The PJC Golfers competed in the rain-shortened McLennan/Coca Cola Fall Classic in Waco where the team landed in fourth place in a very competitive field.

The Dragons were lead by Freshman Riley Goff with a even par round of 72 on the 7,500-yard layout at Twin Rivers Golf Club. The 72 was good enough for sixth place and a spot on the All Tournament Team.

Other Dragons competing were Kevin Giesbrecht, 74; Preston Spoonemore, 76; Thomas Bourne, 81; Alex McKee, 77; and Zac Browder, 80.

"We played right with the top teams in the nation on a good golf course," said PJC Golf Coach David Johnson. "We hope to improve on our 13th spot in the national rankings, and now that we've seen and played the best teams, we will work hard to move up."

This was the last scheduled tournament of the rain-soaked fall schedule, but an extra outing in Tyler has been added to round out the 2009 season.
