Chamber Singers concert set Tuesday Dec. 2

The concert in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church, 322 Lamar Ave., is free and open to the public.

Paris Junior College’s top vocal choir, the Chamber Singers, will present its annual Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church, 322 Lamar Ave.

This year’s performance highlights some of the most famous carols of all time but presented with frequent changes, rhythmic differences and special new melodic sequences to allow for each carol to be presented in a modern style. Each carol will be prefaced by a special introduction of what to listen for in each presentation.

All-time favorites will include Variations on Deck the Hall; Good Christian Men, Rejoice; Hark, the Herald Angels Sing; and Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silent.

New arrangements of The Coventry Carol, Joy to the World and Ave Maria will be performed by selected voice students. The Chamber Singers are accompanied by Linda Flanary.

The Chamber Singers have been honored over the years with performances at the Morman Tabernacle, Disney World, the Texas Rangers, the Frisco Rough Riders, the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs. They also presented a concert in the rotunda of the State Capitol for PJC alumni.

Admission for the Christmas concert is free and the public is invited.
