All classes are free to participants. Both new and returning students must complete the first week of class in order to meet course admission requirements.
The Paris Junior College Adult Education and Family Literacy Department will hold orientation Aug. 25-28 for persons wishing to enroll in GED Preparation or English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. All classes are free to participants. Both new and returning students must complete the first week of class in order to meet course admission requirements. If participants are 16 years old, a copy of a court order must be provided. If participants are 17 ears old, an official withdrawal from high school is required for class admission. Paris Campus Morning class orientation begins at 8:30 a.m. Those desiring evening classes should come at 5:30 p.m. ESL orientation begins at 6 p.m. GED Preparation morning classes meet at the PJC Rheudasil Learning Center from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each Monday and Wednesday. GED evening classes meet at the Learning Center from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday. ESL evening classes meet and the PJC Rheudasil Learning Center from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. Starting Tuesday, Sept. 2, ESL classes will meet at Paris ISD Justiss Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Childcare will be provided. Starting Tuesday, Sept. 2, GED Preparation evening classes will meet at the First Baptist Church in Cooper from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. each Tuesday. Sulphur Springs Campus Morning class orientation begins at 8:30 a.m. Those desiring evening classes should come at 5:30 p.m. GED Preparation morning classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday at the Paris Junior College — Sulphur Springs Center. Evening classes meet from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each Monday and Tuesday at the Sulphur Springs High School. Students should meet in the PJC — Sulphur Springs Center lobby to be directed to the classroom. ESL morning and evening classes will be held at the Sulphur Springs Boys and Girls Club. ESL morning classes will meet from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday. Evening ESL classes will meet from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All classes are held in the art room, and childcare will be provided. Starting Sept. 2, ESL classes meet at Como-Pickton High School from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday. Childcare will be provided. Delta County Orientation starts at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, for persons wishing to enroll in GED Preparation classes. GED Preparation classes will meet at the First Baptist Church in Cooper on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call 903-782-0424.
