Greenville Center PTK Punkin’ Chunk Nov. 1

Prizes will be awarded in two categories — adults and ages 15 years and under — for the pumpkin that is chunked the farthest.

Phi Theta Kappa at Paris Junior College – Greenville Center will sponsor its first Punkin’ Chunkin’ contest from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1.

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year college students.

Contestants can make any type of punkin’ chunkin’ thrower, but it cannot contain gunpowder or flammable liquids or any other items prohibited on school grounds.

Prizes will be awarded in two categories — adults and ages 15 years and under — for the pumpkin that is chunked the farthest. A prize will also be awarded for best design. Contestants will give a one dollar donation for each pumpkin chunked.

As part of this fundraising drive, raffle tickets will be available to a Nov. 8 NASCAR race. Tickets are $3 each or two for $5.

All proceeds will go to the FISH Ministries and WIN (Women in Need), both located in Greenville.
