Section: News ArticlesRegents get update on financial aid and scholarships
Activities for PJC 85th Homecoming, Nov. 5-7, were outlined by Director of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs Derald Bulls.
The Paris Junior College Board of Regents, at its Oct. 26 meeting, received a financial update from Dean of Business Services John Eastman reflecting that $6,296,251 in federal financial aid and scholarships had been awarded for the fall semester. Regents also heard from PJC’s Director of Admissions Sheila Reece on recruiting activities of her office. She and her staff of three recruiters have been exceptionally busy in the past year, including most recently on-site registration of dual-credit students at 25 of the 28 high schools in the PJC service area. Other programs include “Faculty Fridays,” where recruiters team up with workforce education instructors to do presentations at high schools. PJC will host a college fair on Nov. 19 with approximately 25-30 universities attending to present information to PJC students and students from area high schools. In other business, the Regents:
