Region XIV Championship 2007

Coach's Comments:

The Paris Junior College Dragons golf team competed in the Region XIV Golf Tournament at Eagles Bluff Golf Club April 25-27 and finished in third place with rounds of 315-314-300 for a team total of 929, qualifying for the NJCAA National Tournament May 12-19.

Beau Davis led the Dragons with scores of 79-82-73 and a fourth-place finish overall. Ben Montgomery finished in a tie for fifth place with rounds of 84-76-75. Other dragons were Chris Cutchie (73-85-74), Andrew Brauer (81-77-78), and Nate Blankenship (82-79-79).

The course at Eagles Bluff is very demanding. You have to keep your focus on every hole. There is no let up mentally. If a hole is shorter, the green is really tough; if the hole is longer, there is always trouble off the tee. But the green might be more friendly. Its a great test of golf for really good players.

Finishes reflect team and individual scores from the State Tournament, which carried over to the Regionals for a six-round total to determine the Region XIV champions.
