Maness came to PJC from Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Okla., where he was an assistant to Coach Bo Pagliasotti and helped start a new program at that college. Maness began his coaching career at his alma mater, Roxton High School, where he developed a winning program in volleyball, making the playoffs two out of three years. He also coached the 2003 women’s basketball team at Roxton to the state playoffs. Along with coaching, Maness also taught junior high and high school science courses. Maness began his college coaching career in 2003 when he left Roxton to become assistant coach at Clarendon College under Coach Pagliasotti. After two years at Clarendon where he help lead the team to its first playoff appearances in 2003 and 2004, he went to Southwestern Oklahoma. Maness graduated from Roxton High School and attended Paris Junior College from 1994 to 1996. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University — Commerce and his master’s degree in education at Southwestern Oklahoma State. With two seasons under his belt, Maness looks forward to his third season with the addition of a strong freshman class and a group of experienced returners. Winning 11 in the inaugural season and adding 16 more during the second season, Maness has high hopes for his third year squad. “If the program can continue playing with the same intensity as it has in the past, we should be successful this season”, Maness said. “With the play of some experienced sophomores and a strong freshman class, I feel we will be very competitive. As this young program continues to grow, we want to continue being a program that the college and community can be proud of.“ Assistant Coach Tennessee Brown
She came to PJC in 2008 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she played middle blocker and received her degree in English with a minor in Spanish. She is excited about starting her coaching career here at PJC. “The girls are great, and their talent is promising,“ she said. “This team has what it takes to make it to the conference tournament. I am anxious to see what the season brings.“ » Interested in playing volleyball for the PJC Dragons? Fill out and send our recruitment form. These entries also may interest you: |
