Section: Golf ResultsTyler Intercollegiate Golf TournamentThe PJC Dragons golf team finished third at the Tyler Intercollegiate Golf Tournament Tuesday, OCt. 21, at Oak Hurst Golf Club in Bullard, Texas. The Dragons shot 291-295 for a 586 total, 2 shots behind host Tyler (584) and 25 behind winner Lon Morris (561). The Dragons were led by Jason Timmis, who won the medalist title at 9-under, 135. Timmis fired a first-round of 5-under-par 67. On the second day Timmis was 6 under par after 16 holes and finished with bogies on the 17th and 18th for a 4-under-par 68. Kevin Giesbrecht fired rounds of 73-76 (149). Borge Klungerbo shot rounds of 75-75 (150). Jesse Durham had rounds of 80-76 (156), and Tony Griffith at 76-83 (159). Jason is playing as well as any player in the nation right now. This year he has two tournament wins and a fourth-place finish. Going back to last spring, Timmis has made All-Tournament in seven tournaments in a row, which is a very impressive record. Tuesday I saw Jason hit his tee shot on a par 4 into the water on the left. He had about 145 yards to the pin. He hit it to about two inches and made his par. His mental game is really strong, and he never relives negative thoughts or bad shots. I can only hope it will rub off on the freshman. Final Standings
