Paris trailed early, 11-4, and then went on a 16-3 run, getting baskets from six players, including 3-pointers by Nighjah Marks and LaKeisha Jones. The visiting Lady Mountaineers would cut the lead down to 2, 20-18, at the 11:41 mark, but the Lady Dragons responded with a 10-2 run led by two Shay Runnels steals and baskets that helped the home team take a 39-31 lead into the locker room. Paris jumped out quickly in the second half behind baskets by Tammi Mitchell and Brittany Williams, but Eastern Oklahoma would battle back again cutting the lead down to 6 at 43-37. Krystle Adams would score the next 5 points of the game to open the lead back up for Paris. Adams and Williams combined for 20 of the Lady Dragons 30 second-half points en route to the winning margin. Adams and Williams led the Lady Dragons in scoring with 18 and 14 respectively. Paris got scoring out of all 10 players and shot 44.4 percent from the floor while holding Eastern to 31.9 percent. I felt our defensive effort was pretty good against a very strong team. To hold Eastern Oklahoma to 32 percent shooting is pretty impressive. We still need to do a better job on the boards, and we need to take better care of the ball. We had 24 turnovers which is way to many. It was great to see Krystle shoot the ball well, and Shay Runnels sparked us every time she came off the bench.
