Encore in the Park set for Saturday, Dec. 6

Published or Revised November 25, 2008

Paris Junior College's award-winning show choir will present Encore in the Park at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Bywaters Park in downtown Paris. The public is invited to come and see the thousands of Christmas lights of Winter Wonderland and enjoy a musical palate of Christmas favorites including Baby, It's Cold Outside, Rockin' On A Christmas Eve, Feliz Navidad, and Dig That Crazy Santa Claus, all performed with exciting choreography and the clear talented voices of these dedicated college musicians. It is rumored that the Encore men have taken up their own brand of percussion instruments while the Encore ladies will be pleading for a special Christmas with the tune, Santa Baby. Choreographer for this year's show is Kristina House Courson, a former Encore member. Bring your lawn chairs, your blankets and your favorite hot chocolate and be ready to enjoy this fast paced 30-minute show. Free admission makes this show perfect for family enjoyment. Individual soloists from Encore will continue the spirit of the show immediately afterward by presenting Christmas solos on the plaza downtown. Billed as "Encore at the Fountain" by the Lamar County Visitors and Convention Bureau, one can hear even more Christmas favorites in front of the Culbertson fountain at 7:30 p.m. Both of these events are presented in conjunction with the Second Annual Holiday in Paris series.
