Electrician

Performs electrical duties and other general maintenance duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required, vocational or trade school preferred. Two years of facilities maintenance experience required. Journeyman Electrician license required Master Electrician license preferred. Current Texas driver’s license and insurable with the college insurance carrier required. Must be willing to attend continuing education and training for professional and personal growth. Able to lift/carry 50 pounds or more. Ability to perform work related to electricity and electrical maintenance and other general maintenance duties. Ability to exercise sound work practices, and to develop an awareness for safety. Be aware of and help maintain energy efficiency. Be able to work from drawings and specifications. Be able to perform hard physical labor under adverse environments and weather conditions.

This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee.  Additional optional coverages include dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability.  Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, accrued sick leave, vacation, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program.  Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
