Responsibilities: This position will perform a variety of general grounds maintenance including: mowing, edging, weed pulling, trimming and ground clean up. Operate grounds equipment.
Qualifications: Applicant must high school diploma or equivalent. Entry level experience, six months of experience in landscaping and/or grounds keeping with the knowledge of proper safety procedures and standards on operating equipment associated with lawn maintenance or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Ability to read, write and carry out oral and/or written instructions. Current Texas driver's license and insurable with the College's insurance carrier. Must have the ability to maintain and operate small engine landscaping machinery. Ability to lift/carry approximately 25 pounds and/or occasionally lift about 50 pounds.
Salary: The salary for this 12 month position is $11.50 per hour.
Fringe Benefits: This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee. Additional optional coverages includes dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability. Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, accrued sick leave, vacation, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program. Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
