One Identity, One PJC—Log In With Confidence

Simplifying Your Student Experience

We’re excited to announce two major steps we’re taking to make your digital life at PJC smoother and more secure:

  • Standardizing all student usernames into one easy-to-use format:
    • first initial + last name + last 4 digits of your student ID@dragons.parisjc.edu (For exceptions, see lookup tool below)
    • Temp password will be your birthdate (ex. mmddyyyy)
  • Upgrading our email system from Gmail to Microsoft Outlook (Exchange):
  • Go-Live is May 12th!

These changes are part of our overall commitment to continuously improving PJC’s processes and making things simpler for all current and future Dragons.

What’s Changing?

  1. New Username Format
    • We’re moving every student to a single, standardized username:
      • first initial + last name + last 4 of your student ID@dragons.parisjc.edu

For example, if your name is Emily Johnson and your student ID ends in 4561, your new username would be ejohnson4561@dragons.parisjc.edu.

    • This uniform approach reduces confusion and makes it easier to rememberyour login information.
  2. Password Updates
    • Along with your new username, you’ll also be prompted to set up a new password closer to our go-live date: May 12th.
    • We’ll send you step-by-step instructions so that updating your password is quick and painless.
  3. Switch to Microsoft Outlook Email
    • Your primary student email will now be hosted on Microsoft Outlook (Exchange).
    • If you have important messages in your old Gmail account, don’t worry! You can still access Gmail for 90 days after May 12th to save or forward anything you need.

Key Dates to Remember

  • May 12th:
    • Go-Live for new usernames, new passwords, and Outlook email.
    • Starting on this date, use your new username and password to log in to PJC systems
  • 90 Days After May 12th:
    • You can still access your old Gmail account to retrieve any remaining messages. After that, it will be deactivated.

Why Are We Doing This?

We know that juggling multiple usernames, passwords, and email platforms can be a hassle. By simplifying our processes, we aim to:

  1. Provide a More Seamless Experience
    • Having one consistent username across all systems makes your digital life at PJC more convenient.
    • Moving to Outlook centralizes email management and ensures smoother collaboration with instructors, classmates, and future PJC services.
  2. Strengthen Security
    • Starting fresh with new usernames and passwords helps protect you from security threats.
    • Outlook (Exchange) has robust security features to keep your information safe.
  3. Lay the Foundation for Future Improvements
    • Standardizing our login and email systems allows us to integrate future software more easily, so you’ll have access to cutting-edge tools and services as PJC continues to grow.
    • This modernized approach sets up every Dragon for success—now and in the future!

Benefits for You
  • Less Confusion, More Consistency
