Basic Gemstone Faceting

Introductory course covering the use and maintenance of equipment, safety techniques, and hands on use of “top of the line” machines for sawing and shaping of rough gem materials to finished stones. Participants will become familiar with and use the equipment to grind, shape, and polish calibrated precious gem stock into beautiful “stunning” faceted gems. This course is open to students, faculty, and folks from the community who have some experience using lapidary equipment or have completed the Cabochon classes taught at PJC. (HRGY 1091 - Special Topics in Watchmaking and Jewelrymaking)

Course Fee: $234 (24 hours)
