J.R. McLemore Cup

Published or Revised November 07, 2016

The McLemore Cup was instituted by Dr. William deG Hayden in 1961 in honor of Dr. J.R. McLemore, the first basketball coach at Paris Junior College (1929-1961). The original award was for the Most Valuable Player of the football team. Paris Junior College discontinued football after the 1961 season, but the McLemore Cup was reconstituted in 1975 as the Most Valuable Player Award for all of the sports offered at PCJ. The winner is selected each spring by PJC's coaching staff.
