Success is a tradition among Paris Junior College athletes, as exemplified by the Dragons men's basketball team earning the 2004-2005 NJCAA Division I National Men's Basketball Championship, the Dragons softball team finishing 6th in 2021-2022 and 9th in 2012-2013 in the NJCAA Division I National Softball Tournament, as well as the 2021-2022 Dragons baseball team winning the Region XIV North Conference Championship. The Dragons men's golf team historically qualified teams and individual players for the NJCAA Division I National Tournament several times. There have also been many Dragons teams' trips to regional tournaments.

Current athletic activities at PJC include men's basketball, women's basketball, women's softball, baseball, and both men's and women's soccer. PJC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and competes in the Region XIV Athletic Conference, one of the strongest two-year college conferences in the nation.

PJC has been very successful in all its sports, winning numerous conference and state titles, capturing two national titles and winning its way to several NJCAA tournaments in softball, basketball and baseball, as well as golf when still offered.

Historically, Paris Junior College athletes perform as well in the classroom as they do in their respective sports. Click here to view PJC's athletic graduation rates.

The college boasts a lengthy list of athletes who have earned Junior College All-American and Academic All-American status, and many have played and continue to play basketball and baseball in the professional ranks.
