Director Purchasing
Responsibilities: This position will ensure that purchases of supplies, equipment, and services are made in accordance with procurement laws and regulations, and Paris Junior College policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Applicant must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Accounting or related field. Three years’ experience required. Procurement experience in higher education preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to conduct research and evaluate findings on procurement matters. Apply analytical skills to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet workload requirements and deadlines. Responsive to inquiries or requests in a timely and diplomatic manner. Ability to interact tactfully and courteously with vendors, employees, and students to effectively resolve issues and provide support. Ability to take initiative to identify issues and resolve problems. Learn and apply College purchasing policies and procedures; make updates as necessary. Must have skills in computers, phones, and copiers. Some physical pushing and/or pulling required ‐ less than 50 lbs.
Salary: The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $90,000.
Fringe Benefits: This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee. Additional optional coverages include dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability. Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas or Optional Retirement Program, accrued sick leave, vacation, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program. Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
