Published or Revised July 17, 2014

Paris Junior College is now offering more flexible emergency medical technician training in Greenville and Paris, allowing students to complete part of the one-semester class online. Students only need to come to a classroom for ten days throughout the 16-week semester. The lecture in delivered in an interactive online format, including videos, animations, and activities to ensure mastery of the content. The hybrid class benefits students by giving them access to the instructor during the face-to-face time while allowing online review and explanation of the content. Practice of hands-on skills will also be coved in the face-to-face time. Classroom times will be offered at both Paris and the PJC-Greenville Center. Students may attend whichever campus they choose. After successfully completing the one semester EMT course, a student will have the knowledge and skills to treat a variety of medical and traumatic emergencies. This course is also helpful to the student who is interested in healthcare but unsure of a specific field. Students are in a clinical setting within a few weeks of starting the EMT class, seeing both hospital and pre-hospital healthcare functions. An EMT is employable by ambulance services, fire departments, hospitals and physicians’ clinics. For more information about the class, call 903-782-0754.
