Krista Goerte awarded Coca-Cola scholarship

Paris Junior College journalism student Krista Goerte of Telephone, Texas, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. "We are proud of Krista and all that she has accomplished at Paris Junior College," said PJC President Dr. Pamela Anglin. In April, Goerte was named the recipient of [i]The Paris News[/i] Journalism Scholarship during the annual Creative Writing and Art Awards ceremonies at PJC. She also was named Journalism Student of the Year and Outstanding English Student of the Year. "This program is an extension of our long-standing commitment to college education throughout the United States," said J. Mark David, president of the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. Georte is among 400 students nationwide who were awarded $400,000 in scholarships by the foundation in June. She is the daughter of Eric and Patti Goerte of Telephone.
