Oliver, Clemente co-winners of the McLemore Cup

Zach Oliver and Ramon Clemente were named co-winners of the prestigious McLemore Cup Award presented this week during the All-Sports Awards ceremony at Paris Junior College. Oliver, the PJC Dragon's All-Conference baseball pitcher, and Clemente, the All-Region and All-American basketball player, were both given the honor as overall most valuable players among all of the sports at PJC. Capturing the Bobby Walters Cup award for sophomore athletes with the highest grade point average were softball players Brandi Dalme and Larissa Martin, each maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. Coaches in each of the six sports on campus recognized a Most Valuable Player that was selected by team members. All-Region player Brittany Williams was named MVP from the Lady Dragons basketball team. Coach Ross Hodge presented the men's basketball MVP award to Clemente. Two players were selected on the Dragons baseball team to receive the Barney Bray Cup as MVPs. Coach Deron Clark presented the trophies to Tim Heath and Oliver. Ben Montgomery received the Mickey Flippen Cup from Coach David Johnson as the MVP of the Dragons golf team. PJC softball's Vernon Carter Cup went to MVP Emilie Hobbs, and Coach Justin Maness presented the volleyball MVP award to Stormy Smith.
