PJC Board of Regents votes to propose effective tax rate

A special called meeting was held on Monday, August 10 by the Paris Junior College Board of Regents. After receiving no public comment, the Regents approved a proposed property tax rate of .1875. In other business the Regents:
  • Increased the WorkKeys testing fee to $32, passing on an increase from ACT.
  • Accepted a bid of $190,947 from Richard Drake Construction to provide paving for the PJC - Sulphur Springs Center.
  • Rejected a bid on the old Federal Building and parking lot at 136 Grand Ave. The $39,005 bid was for the parking lot only, and PJC will only see the building and parking lot together.
  • Accepted a bid from the Baker Agency of $52,029 for Intercollegiate Athletics Play/Practice Accident Insurance and Catastrophic Insurance.
