PJC sponsors forum on new health technology

Frontiers and the Spirit of Exploration in Medicine is the subject of an open discussion forum on Thursday, Aug. 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Held in the PJC Math & Science Building room 101, the event is co-sponsored by PJC's biomedical sciences program and Phi Theta Kappa, the two-year college honor society. Guest lecturers will include Drs. Celeste Wilcox and James Petrikas from Texas Oncology, Dr. Mark Gibbs from the Paris Orthopedic Clinic and Patti Monczewski, chief operating officer from Paris Regional Medical Center. Also speaking will be PJC's biomedical sciences program coordinator and instructor Jack Brown, who will address current genetic and stem cell research. "New technologies and treatments available to our community will be discussed," said PTK Historian/Secretary Paula Vaughan, "as well as those soon to be available.
