Spanish Club being organized at PJC campuses

Published or Revised March 02, 2007

Spanish Clubs, under the sponsorship of instructor Mayra Cummings, are being organized at both the Greenville and Sulphur Springs campuses of Paris Junior College. The Greenville Center chapter of the Spanish Club will meet 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, in room 203. The Sulphur Springs chapter will meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the conference room. A chapter for the Paris campus will be announced soon. Hispanic students are encouraged to become members of the club, but Cummings said that students do not need to be enrolled in Hispanic to be a member. Activities planned for the club include fiestas, practicing Spanish and learning about the culture. Members will discuss other events and civic projects that can be conducted by the club along with coming up with an official name for the club.
